Camp Mug | Vintage State Park Trail Map
We’ve been reformulating our mainstay glazes, and this glaze is part of our latest satin series. It is so buttery soft to the touch, and has slight variations that happen on the surface to make for a beautiful aesthetic. This particular satiny glaze takes our decal work (which is a third firing) really well. I love a good watercolor, and have been working on curating a collection of artwork from various artists to accompany our pottery. I’m really happy with the collection so far, and I’m excited to keep growing it. These cups are unique and one-of-a-kind pieces. While we may have multiple items in a single listing, the color and shape may differ slightly.
I have been on the hunt for vintage images/maps that have something to do with our area, but mostly the dunes. I hit the jackpot with an old trail map of our beloved state park. It had an old conservation seal, descriptions of the Dunes Inn and places to stay (crazy to see the prices posted!), each trail had wonderful things written about it, and there was even information about other state parks in Indiana. 💕 While I love so many of the trails here in NWI, I spend most of my trail time within our beautiful Indiana Dunes State Park - it made this find even more special to me. 💕
The dunes are coming to life, and just plain magical this time of year. Eric and I have been geeking out about spring flowers, and planning where we need to be and when we need to be there to ensure we see all of our favorite blooms in thier glory. Among our top 10 in the area - still yet to pop, are Lupine and Columbine. It just made sense to include them in the collection. *There are certain spots you can hike to see hillsides full of purple lupine - if you know, you know. 💜 🤌✨
The mug itself is our Camp style - which has become a fan favorite, and there is a good reason why! It feels great in your hand, has a nostalgic vibe, and holds a robust 14-16oz. Our Beale Pottery logo is stamped into the bottom of each mug.
Each one of our mugs are handmade from start to finish. The clay is measured and thrown on the potters wheel, a foot is carved into the bottom, and a handle is attached. All of our glazes are made from raw materials right here in our studio, unless otherwise stated. We do not use molds. Due to our hands on process, each piece we make will vary slightly from one another - no two are the same, giving you a truly unique piece of art.
While mugs would hold up in the dishwasher, we recommend that you handwash these special beauties. Microwave safe, unless they’ve been painted with 22k gold.
Approximate sizes:
Height: 4.25”
Width: 3.5”
Holds: 12-14oz
