Tall Camp Mug | Vintage Flora Map + Pink Coneflowers
We’ve been reformulating our mainstay glazes, and this glaze is part of our latest satin series. It is so buttery soft to the touch, and has slight variations that happen on the surface to make for a beautiful aesthetic. This particular satiny glaze takes our decal work (which is a third firing) really well.
I found this map in an old book published by the Field Museum in Chicago years ago & fell in love with it. The map illustrates the flora and ferns of the Indiana Dunes and Calumet Region, and dates back to 1930. How cool is that?! It’s fun to see how things have changed over the years, and see familiar places… I paired the map with some of my hand drawn Pink Coneflowers as decals, and I’m pretty smitten with the outcome. ❤️✨
The dunes are coming to life, and just plain magical this time of year. Eric and I have been geeking out about spring flowers, and planning where we need to be and when we need to be there to ensure we see all of our favorite blooms in thier glory. Among our top 10 in the area - still yet to pop, are Lupine and Columbine. It just made sense to include them in the collection. *There are certain spots you can hike to see hillsides full of purple lupine - if you know, you know. 💜 🤌✨
The mug itself is our Tall Camp style - which has become a fan favorite, and there is a good reason why! It feels great in your hand, has a nostalgic vibe, and holds a robust 14-16oz. *Made in the hopes it would for in your car’s cup holder!
Each one of our mugs are handmade from start to finish. The clay is measured and thrown on the potters wheel, a foot is carved into the bottom, and our logo is hand stamped into each piece. This is the first in a collab series with Milissa’s drawing being added to the surface before the glaze application happens. Eric makes each of the glazes used in this series, and applies them in our spray booth layering multiple colors. All of our glazes are made from raw materials right here in our studio. We do not use molds.
While these pieces would hold up in the dishwasher, we recommend that you handwash these special beauties. Microwave safe, unless they’ve been painted with 22k gold.
Approximate sizes:
Height: 5.25”
Width: 3”
Holds: 12-14oz
Thanks for your support! ❤️
