$95.00

SUMMER CAMP

Thursday July 30th | 5-9pm

Elevate your table, and your hand-building skills in this playful and practical ceramics workshop focused on creating your very own salt and pepper shaker set with a coordinating tray. In this immersive 4 hour class, students will explore slab-building techniques to construct functional, thoughtfully designed tabletop pieces that are as beautiful as they are useful.

We’ll focus on building from flat slabs, learning how to use pre-cut stencils to measure, cut, assemble, attach, seal, and refine forms to create clean, well-constructed shakers that truly function. Special attention will be given to craftsmanship - compressing seams, refining edges, and ensuring proper construction so your pieces are durable once glazed and fired. If time allows, we’ll explore surface decoration techniques to personalize your set and give it character.

This class is perfect for anyone looking to strengthen their handbuilding skills while creating something functional and or gift-worthy. Whether you lean modern and minimal or quirky and expressive, your finished salt and pepper set will reflect your unique style, and become a conversation piece at any table.

Suggestd Supplies:

  • Decorating tools - Any sgraffito tools, carving tools, stamps, etc. There will be some tools to share at the studio, but you are welcome to bring your own providing a bigger variety.

This workshop is limited to 18 students.

**Please note: John Britt’s workshop is not eligible for discounts.

Closing Ceremony
Saturday August 1st | 5PM Sharp

What’s a week at summer camp without a closing ceremony and ribbon awards? If you attend just one workshop, you are invited to display your favorite pieces from your week at camp to share with everyone, and for the chance to earn a ribbon. Tried something new? Mastered a tricky technique? Created a masterpiece? Survived kiln drama? There’s likely gonna be a ribbon for that. We’ll cheer. We’ll clap. We may ooooh and ahhh….
Patches will be proudly displayed. Stories will be told. This is our moment to celebrate the beautiful community that forms when we gather to create with one another… and play in the mud.

A Quick Camp Policy Note
All workshop sales are final — no refunds or credits. We operate Summer Camp with built-in discounts to make it accessible, and we plan carefully to create something truly special. Our guest artists travel to be here and are paid for sharing their knowledge with our community. Thank you for understanding and supporting that commitment.
