Tim Kowalczyk is a ceramic artist based in Minonk, Illinois, where he works from his basement studio creating sculptural and functional ceramics that blur the line between everyday objects and clay. Known for his “trick of the eye” type work, Kowalczyk transforms clay into carefully crafted ceramic forms that celebrate the overlooked aesthetics of daily life.

Kowalczyk earned his BFA in Ceramics from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and his MFA from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. His work is widely exhibited and collected internationally, and he regularly shows with Abel Contemporary Gallery, Black Book Gallery, and Companion Gallery.

His ceramics have been featured in national and international exhibitions as well as publications and online platforms including Colossal, My Modern Met, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
