Crystalline Ramekin | No.33

$30.00
Only 3 available

These ramekins are thrown on the wheel bu our so, Oliver. He apprenticed here with us during his senior year in high school. He’s now moved on to become a union carpenter, but you’ll still find him moonlighting in the studio with us. :)

These little bowls are the perfect thing to hold your herbs while cooking, your jewelry next to the sink, omelette fixings, or taco toppings… what ever makes your heart happy.

*This style has been decorated with hand drawn flowers, and sprayed with crystal glazes!

Eric has been experimenting with glaze chemistry for some time now. He’s been aiming to achieve both micro and macro crystal growth within the glaze surface, and imitate an atmospheric aesthetic within the contrasts of a mid-range oxidation kiln. His results are improving with every test batch… this collection is the culmination of his efforts, and it doesn’t disappoint! Crystalline firings are exciting, and somewhat temperamental. While we have a general idea of the outcome, we don’t always know what’s coming out of the kiln. These mugs are unique and one-of-a-kind pieces. While we may have multiple pieces listed under the same No. available, the color and crystals may differ slightly.

These pieces are lined with an in-house food safe glaze, the color is white.

Each one of our ramekins are handmade from start to finish. The clay is measured and thrown on the potters wheel, texture is applied with slip, a foot is carved into the bottom, and our logo is hand stamped into each piece. Eric makes each of the glazes used in this series, and applies them in our spray booth layering multiple colors. All of our glazes are made from raw materials right here in our studio. We do not use molds.

While these pieces would hold up in the dishwasher, we recommend that you handwash these special beauties. Microwave safe, unless they’ve been painted with 22k gold.

Approximate sizes:
Height: 2-2.5”
Width: 3-3.5”
