Pottery Date Night

December gets busy. Consider this your excuse to pause and go have some fun together.
Make a whole day of it! Do a little holiday shopping, grab a coffee, wander around for the afternoon, and then head our way for Pottery Date Night. We’ll have the studio warm, the music on, pizza coming, and plenty of clay waiting for you.
And fair warning: there’s some light competition…
This isn’t your typical pottery class. We’ve built Date Night around clay games, ridiculous challenges, wheel throwing, handbuilding, good food and a whole lot of laughing. Absolutely no pottery experience is necessary. In fact, sometimes not knowing what you’re doing makes it even more fun.
After introductions, we’ll divide into two groups. Half of our couples will head to the pottery wheels with Eric while the other half joins Milissa at the tables for handbuilding and clay challenges. We’ll break in the middle for pizza together, then swap so everyone gets a turn at both.
You’ll work as a team throughout the evening - including sharing one pottery wheel per couple. There will be challenges to accomplish together, prizes to win, and yes… if you’ve always wanted your Ghost pottery-wheel moment, we won’t stop you.
At the end of the night, you’ll choose one piece you made together for us to finish and fire.
Mostly, though, this night is about getting out of the house, putting your phones away for a few hours, getting your hands dirty and doing something completely different together.
We are not able to provide beer or wine, but you are welcome to bring your own and consume responsibly. We have a small fridge here to keep your drinks cold, but most couples come prepared with their own small coolers.
Due to diet restrictions, the easiest meal to accommodate everyone is pizza. We will be ordering a variety of pies, wings, and some extras from AJ's Pizza in Chesterton. There will be gluten free options only upon request.
